250 x 250.x10.0 Square Hollow Section S355
250 x 250.x10.0 Square Hollow Section S355 is an SHS measuring 250 × 250 mm, combining the torsional stiffness of a closed section with faces you can actually bolt a plate to. The closed box is far stiffer in torsion than any open profile of similar weight, so an SHS post carrying an offset load twists very little.

At 72.7 kg per metre, one tonne buys roughly 13.8 linear metres. Sections this heavy are usually part of a primary load path, so mill certification and dimensional tolerance matter as much as the section size itself. Supplied in grade S355 to BS EN 10210 / BS EN 10219, cut to your lengths and delivered worldwide. Heat numbers are traceable back to the rolling mill, with EN 10204 3.1 certificates issued against each delivery.
Typically specified for mezzanine and platform posts, portal and goalpost frames, gate and railing frames, balustrade newel posts and machinery frames and skids.
Mitre cuts for frames are set out here from your overall frame dimensions rather than piece lengths.
