305 x 305 x 118 kg Universal Column S355
305 x 305 x 118 kg Universal Column S355 is a hot-rolled universal column measuring 314.5 × 306.8 mm, proportioned for axial load rather than span. The near-square geometry gives a much better minor-axis radius of gyration than a beam of the same weight, which is what keeps slenderness — and therefore buckling — under control over storey heights.

At 118 kg per metre, one tonne buys roughly 8.5 linear metres. At the top of the weight range, transport and lifting normally dictate the delivery plan as much as the programme does. Supplied in grade S355 to BS EN 10025-2, cut to your lengths and delivered worldwide. Heat numbers are traceable back to the rolling mill, with EN 10204 3.1 certificates issued against each delivery.
Typically specified for storey-height posts, baseplate-mounted columns, goalpost frame legs, heavy bracing nodes and mezzanine and platform legs.
If the column is exposed in the finished building, specify the finish early: blast-cleaning and priming are done before fabrication marks are covered.
