305 x 305 x 158 kg Universal Column S355
Rolled as a universal column measuring 327.2 × 310.6 mm, the 305 x 305 x 158 kg Universal Column S355 is the section you reach for when the member stands up and carries load down. Because both flanges and web are relatively thick, this profile also takes concentrated bearing load well, which is useful directly under beam connections and baseplates.

At 158 kg per metre, one tonne buys roughly 6.3 linear metres. This is a heavy primary member: craneage, access routes and unloading sequence should be agreed before the steel leaves us. Held in S355 to BS EN 10025-2 and cut to length before it leaves the yard. Mill certificates accompany every load, and any fabrication is executed under our BS EN 1090 EXC 3 factory production control.
Typically specified for multi-storey load paths, building stanchions, storey-height posts, baseplate-mounted columns and goalpost frame legs.
Columns are usually cut to a tighter length tolerance than beams because the cut face bears directly — tell us if you need a machined or sawn square end.
