40 x 100 x 31.4 kg Flatbar S275
40 x 100 x 31.4 kg Flatbar S275 is a mild steel flat measuring 40 × 100 mm, used as plate stock for splices, packers, gussets and flitch work. As a flitch plate sandwiched between timber, a flat bar adds substantial bending stiffness while keeping the finished member the same width as the joists either side of it.

At 31.4 kg per metre, one tonne buys roughly 31.8 linear metres. Weight-wise it sits in the everyday working band — the size most frequently specified where span and access have to be balanced against each other. Supplied in grade S275 to BS EN 10025-2, cut to your lengths and delivered worldwide. Heat numbers are traceable back to the rolling mill, with EN 10204 3.1 certificates issued against each delivery.
Typically specified for splice and gusset plates, base and cap plates, packers and shims, stiffeners to existing steel and bracing straps.
Specify whether edges need to be deburred or bevelled; plates going into a visible position usually want both.
