5 x 25 x 0.98 kg Flatbar S275
Rolled as a flat bar measuring 5 × 25 mm, the 5 x 25 x 0.98 kg Flatbar S275 covers everything from a simple packer to a structural flitch plate. Bolt spacing and edge distance are what govern a flitch design far more often than the steel section itself — the plate is only as good as the bolt group transferring load into it.

At 0.98 kg per metre, one tonne buys roughly 1020.4 linear metres. Light enough to be manoeuvred through existing openings, it is a common choice where a crane simply cannot reach the working face. Held in S275 to BS EN 10025-2 and cut to length before it leaves the yard. Mill certificates accompany every load, and any fabrication is executed under our BS EN 1090 EXC 3 factory production control.
Typically specified for edging and trim to steelwork, timber flitch beams, splice and gusset plates, base and cap plates and packers and shims.
Plates are supplied square-cut as standard; radiused corners and slotted holes are available on request.
