8 x 50 x 3.14 kg Flatbar S275
Rolled as a flat bar measuring 8 × 50 mm, the 8 x 50 x 3.14 kg Flatbar S275 covers everything from a simple packer to a structural flitch plate. As a flitch plate sandwiched between timber, a flat bar adds substantial bending stiffness while keeping the finished member the same width as the joists either side of it.

At 3.14 kg per metre, one tonne buys roughly 318.5 linear metres. It sits at the lighter end of the range, which keeps handling costs down and lets small teams position members without mechanical lifting plant. Held in S275 to BS EN 10025-2 and cut to length before it leaves the yard. Mill certificates accompany every load, and any fabrication is executed under our BS EN 1090 EXC 3 factory production control.
Typically specified for edging and trim to steelwork, timber flitch beams, splice and gusset plates, base and cap plates and packers and shims.
Specify whether edges need to be deburred or bevelled; plates going into a visible position usually want both.
