UAE projects are approved through the relevant municipality or free zone authority, most often Dubai Municipality or Abu Dhabi's DMT. Design is usually to AISC 360 or Eurocode 3 as nominated in the project specification, with fabricators asked to demonstrate ISO 9001, ISO 3834 and often AISC or EN 1090 certification plus third party inspection.
