152 x 152 x 30 kg Universal Column S355
152 x 152 x 30 kg Universal Column S355 is a hot-rolled universal column measuring 157.5 × 152.9 mm, proportioned for axial load rather than span. Column capacity falls away with effective length, so the same section can be perfectly adequate at 2.4 m and badly overloaded at 5 m. The design check is length-driven, not just load-driven.

At 30 kg per metre, one tonne buys roughly 33.3 linear metres. It is heavy enough to need mechanical handling on site, but light enough that a standard HIAB offload covers delivery in one visit. Supplied in grade S355 to BS EN 10025-2, cut to your lengths and delivered worldwide. Heat numbers are traceable back to the rolling mill, with EN 10204 3.1 certificates issued against each delivery.
Typically specified for storey-height posts, baseplate-mounted columns, goalpost frame legs, heavy bracing nodes and mezzanine and platform legs.
Holding-down bolt positions are best confirmed against the setting-out drawing before the baseplate is welded on.
